GLOBAL NATION
Saturday. Global Nation in Milano and tonight hardcore reminded me that no matter how fascinated I become with techno, there is still a part of me that wants absolutely no subtlety. The crowd was enormous, hot, loud and completely committed. The Stunned Guys, harder records, kicks that make conversation not merely difficult but philosophically impossible. Yuri came and survived. Hikari and Marico were there. Erick made it, Mark didn’t, because home had become complicated again. Edo was not magically part of our Milano group because Edo lives in Lecco; he was, however, on MSN before I left demanding a report on anything interesting I heard, which is much more accurate. I thought about that during the night: how much of my music life has been built by people who aren’t physically beside me. Somebody in another city sends a file, a title, a DJ name. Weeks later you hear it through a system enormous enough to shake your clothes. The Internet has made geography very strange.
Remember me, Eclipse.
Why?
Because every thought leaves a trace. If something moved you, disturbed you, softened you, or made you think, leave it here, quietly.
