no, I did not steal my own nickname
the internet has finally achieved the impossible: somebody asked whether my own life copied somebody else’s blog. #
A girl on MSN asked whether I got Bambolina from Valerio’s girlfriend’s blog.
I had to read the question twice.
No.
No no no.
Yuri calls me Bambolina. That is why it appeared in my MSN name. That is why it appeared here. I was using it before I knew that girl existed. I didn’t know Valerio had a girlfriend until the night he sent me her weblog. This is exactly why that particular part of the whole thing irritated me so much.
And again, because apparently this requires legal precision: I do not own the word bambolina. Nobody needs permission from Alice in Milano to call herself a doll. What annoyed me was context. It appeared alongside a collection of other similarities after the nickname had become visible on my blog/MSN identity.
The girl who asked apologised immediately and said she hadn’t meant it badly.
I know.
Still.
Imagine being asked whether you copied yourself.
Internet achievement unlocked.
Remember me, Eclipse.
Why?
Because every thought leaves a trace. If something moved you, disturbed you, softened you, or made you think, leave it here, quietly.
