Not shy. Just Observing

Read this slowly. Let the words arrive before you decide what they mean.

Today someone in class said, “You’re really shy,” and I smiled politely instead of explaining the truth.

I’m not shy.
I’m observing.
There’s a difference.

Shy people want to disappear. I don’t. I just don’t understand why some people speak constantly even when they have absolutely nothing interesting to say.

Harsh maybe.
But accurate.

School becomes fascinating once you stop trying to participate every second. People reveal themselves almost immediately.

Who laughs too hard at teachers’ jokes.
Who changes personality around boys.
Who becomes cruel in groups but quiet alone.
Who copies opinions because silence scares them.

Most people are performing versions of themselves all day long. And honestly? Sometimes I am too. I noticed today that H. observes people the same way I do. Not judgmentally exactly. More like scientific curiosity mixed with emotional caution. At lunch we invented entire psychological biographies for strangers passing outside the cafeteria windows.

Very healthy behavior.
Surely.

The strange thing is that people assume quiet girls are fragile. Meanwhile some of the loudest people I know collapse the second nobody validates them for five minutes.

Silence scares people more than they admit.

OBSERVING.
Remember me,
Eclipse

Why?

Because every thought leaves a trace. If something moved you, disturbed you, softened you, or made you think, leave it here, quietly.
