Christmas

Read this slowly. Let the words arrive before you decide what they mean.

Wednesday. Church, family, presents, lunch extending into a period normally called afternoon, Mom looking beautiful despite having done approximately twelve times more work than everybody else, Dad on the telephone from Genova, Yuri later, messages from Hikari, Erick, Tia, Alexielle and Edo. Splinder comments from people I didn’t know existed three months ago. That may be the strangest thing about this Christmas: the circle around the blog suddenly has faces — or at least names, pages, habits, opinions. The Internet feels more crowded than it did last year.

Not worse.

Just closer.

Remember me, Eclipse.

Why?

Because every thought leaves a trace. If something moved you, disturbed you, softened you, or made you think, leave it here, quietly.
