End of Year Music Argument
Read this slowly. Let the words arrive before you decide what they mean.
Saturday. Edo and I attempted to make our favourite-music-of-2002 lists tonight.
This failed immediately because he objected to my categories and I objected to the concept of ranking things that do different jobs. Hardcore gave me Global Nation and Hardcore Nation. Techno gave me Matrix nights where Ricky Le Roy, Mario Più, Joy Kitikonti, Zicky and Franchino completely rewired what I expect from a DJ set. Mauro Picotto remains impossible to ignore. At home I still return to Garbage, Depeche Mode, Prodigy and all the things that existed before this year’s obsession. Music doesn’t replace itself neatly.
Edo finally wrote `”TOP 20 THEN”`.
I logged off.
Remember me, Eclipse.
Why?
Because every thought leaves a trace. If something moved you, disturbed you, softened you, or made you think, leave it here, quietly.
