Elegance
My Mother Says Elegance Is Mostly Discipline #
Mam believes beauty without discipline becomes vulgar eventually. Today she said this while adjusting diamonds on her pc, under a white lamp wearing cream trousers and absolutely perfect eyeliner at eleven in the morning.
Intimidating atmosphere honestly.
She spent most of the day preparing sketches for a private jewelry showing next week and the apartment smelled like Angel, coffee, paper, and expensive hand cream. Watching her work is fascinating because she never behaves dramatically creative. No artistic chaos. No cigarettes. No screaming about inspiration.
Everything is precise.
Measured.
Controlled.
Even her pencils look organized psychologically. I asked if she ever gets nervous before meeting important clients and she said: “Of course. That’s why preparation exists.” Which sounds obvious until you realize most people spend their lives improvising emotionally.
Including me.
At one point she showed me a velvet case, she designed, filled with loose stones and suddenly the entire room changed. Diamonds under winter light look almost cold enough to hurt. I think people imagine luxury feels warm.
It doesn’t.
Not really.
Later while getting ready for dinner she sprayed Angel on her wrists and neck and for a second I understood something uncomfortable: elegance is often just carefully managed selfcontrol.
The posture.
The voice.
The silence.
The restraint.
Maybe that’s why I find it both beautiful and exhausting.
Remember me,
Eclipse
Why?
Because every thought leaves a trace. If something moved you, disturbed you, softened you, or made you think, leave it here, quietly.
