Slightly Different Girl

Read this slowly. Let the words arrive before you decide what they mean.

New Year, Same Room, Slightly Different Girl #

Today I cleaned my room with the determination of someone attempting psychological reconstruction through organization. Very healthy behavior. I rearranged books, threw away old papers, organized notebooks for school, and even folded sweaters properly instead of creating the usual textile disaster chair. My room now looks like it belongs to a girl who definitely has her life under control.

A fictional girl, but still.

January light in M. is brutal. White and unforgiving… It exposes dust, fingerprints, unfinished thoughts. Even the apartment feels quieter after holidays, like everyone is recovering from too much beauty and food… Mom spent most of the afternoon reviewing jewelry sketches while drinking espresso and listening to old music… She says January is useful because people stop pretending celebration can solve their lives.

Fair.

I bought new notebooks yesterday and there’s something dangerously optimistic about empty pages. Every year I convince myself this will be the moment I become disciplined.

This is the year I:
study earlier,
sleep properly,
stop losing pens,
stop overthinking conversations,
become less invisible.

Although honestly invisibility has advantages.
People reveal things around quiet girls.

Still.

IT’S COLD.
Remember me,
Eclipse

Why?

Because every thought leaves a trace. If something moved you, disturbed you, softened you, or made you think, leave it here, quietly.
