My Room Looks Different at 2 A.M.

Read this slowly. Let the words arrive before you decide what they mean.

Everything becomes more honest after two in the morning. My room especially. During the day it looks normal enough. Books. Clothes. School things pretending organization. But at night the shadows change and suddenly every object feels strangely personal.

The city outside sounds different too.
Less traffic.
More distance somehow.

Tonight I couldn’t sleep so I sat near the window wearing one of M.’s sweaters while listening quietly to music low enough not to wake Mom. The apartment smelled faintly like Angel because perfume survives longer at night for some reason. I kept thinking about how strange growing up feels lately. Not dramatic changes. Just subtle reorganizations.

People becoming important slowly.
Places gaining emotional meaning.
Phone calls affecting entire evenings.

At school everyone acts like life is immediate and obvious, but honestly most of us are improvising identities badly under fluorescent lighting.

Sometimes I still feel twelve.
Sometimes forty.

Tonight I feel somewhere in between. The future seems closer after midnight.

Not clearer.
Just closer.

THE END.
Remember me,
Eclipse

Why?

Because every thought leaves a trace. If something moved you, disturbed you, softened you, or made you think, leave it here, quietly.
