Last Free Friday
Friday. Tea at five, four biscuits, music too loud, no homework. I am appreciating this with the seriousness it deserves. Remember me, Eclipse.
There is a manner in which certain things ask to be written, not so that they may be found, but because to exist in silence, for too long, eventually becomes insufficient. It is not urgency. It is something closer to a necessity that makes no noise, waiting patiently until it discovers the proper form. This archive was born in such a way.
Not as a diary. Not as a blog. Not as something that is updated merely for the sake of appearing alive. It is a place where certain thoughts come to rest, those which do not dissolve, those which return, those which insist with the silent obstinacy of things that truly belong to you...
Friday. Tea at five, four biscuits, music too loud, no homework. I am appreciating this with the seriousness it deserves. Remember me, Eclipse.
Monday. School is approaching. I can feel stationery becoming judgmental. Remember me, Eclipse.
Friday. Mostly Genova. Needed that. Remember me, Eclipse.
Wednesday. New notebooks are appearing in shops. I reject the implication. Remember me, Eclipse.
Saturday. Party tonight after weeks of being comparatively civilised. Hikari said I looked ridiculously happy before we’d even gone inside. I deny this despite photographic evidence. Remember me, Eclipse.
Tuesday. Home. Hikari. Erick. Tia. Mac. Email. My bed. Proper speakers. Also traffic. Nothing is free. Remember me, Eclipse.
Saturday. I love Genova. I miss standing in front of speakers large enough to make bad decisions vibrate out of your body. Both statements remain true. Remember me, Eclipse.
Wednesday. Heat. Family. Food. Sea. More food. Somebody offering fruit immediately after dessert as though fruit occurs in a separate stomach. Italy functioning normally. Remember me, Eclipse.
Saturday. Dinner, walking, talking, home at a time when I would normally only be deciding whether a party is good yet. Dad says this proves his nights are more efficient....
Wednesday. Dad put four biscuits beside my tea without comment. Training complete. Remember me, Eclipse.
Sunday. Church with Dad, lunch, long walk, sea. I don’t know why faith feels different in different cities when presumably God has not changed jurisdiction. Maybe I change jurisdiction. Remember...
Friday. Staying with Dad longer this time. I brought enough clothes to survive a minor regime change and forgot one thing I actually needed. Packing remains undefeated. Remember me, Eclipse.
Why?
Because every thought leaves a trace. If something moved you, disturbed you, softened you, or made you think, leave it here, quietly.
